From idea to board

From the first prototype in Tarifa to the finished board: every VÆRIAL is developed by riders and built in Europe by a manufacturing partner with 25 years of experience in board construction.

Developed in Tarifa
Every board starts as an idea on the beach. Prototypes are shaped and tested in Tarifa, in strong Levante, gusty Poniente and Atlantic chop, until the flex, rocker and outline feel right.
- 02
Selected wood
Wood can’t be replaced. Every core starts with wood selected for density, growth, weight, torsion and elasticity, and combines vertical and horizontal stringers for the right flex.

CNC-milled core
The core is CNC-machined with extreme accuracy, because the quality of the core decides how a board performs and how stable it stays over the years.
- 04
Premium materials
Top sheets and bases from Austria and Germany, printed with Swiss silkscreen and sublimation inks for sharp details and colours that last in the sun.
- 05
Laminated by hand
Glass and carbon fabrics are chosen per model and laminated by hand with epoxy resin. Every layer is coated separately for a firm bond.
- 06
Heat and pressure
In the press the board gets its final strength and its profile: rocker, concave and channels. Heat, pressure and time follow a fixed cycle.
- 07
Finished by hand
After resting for several days, each board is trimmed, its edges are shaped and polished by hand, and it passes quality control before it ships.

Every VÆRIAL kiteboard is developed and tested in Tarifa, Spain, and manufactured in Europe. We produce in Europe for shorter supply chains, high production standards, fair working conditions and close quality control, from the first prototype to the finished board.
Which VÆRIAL kiteboard is right for me?
ERA for freeride, with a 144 cm light-wind size. ELEMENT for freeride, progressive freeride, freestyle and big air. MONA PRO MODEL, women specific, for freeride. THREESIXTY and the full-carbon THREESIXTY ADV for freestyle and big air. The Board Finder suggests a model and size for your weight and riding style.
What size kiteboard do I need?
Mainly your weight, your usual wind range and your riding style. VÆRIAL boards range from 133 to 144 cm for riders from 45 kg to over 110 kg. Lighter riders and stronger wind call for smaller boards; light-wind days call for more surface.
Do VÆRIAL boards come with fins?
Yes. Every VÆRIAL board ships with high-end, CNC-milled G10 fins. The fins come in two sizes, 3.5 cm and 4.8 cm. No extra upgrade needed.
Do you make a women’s kiteboard?
Yes. The MONA PRO MODEL is a high-performance freeride twintip with a female-specific flex and adapted edges, in 133 × 39.5 and 137 × 41.5 cm.
